Tonight, from what I can tell both games start at 12:30am at AEDT. Should be good to watch. I just hope I can stay awake, only got about 4 hours sleep last night after watching the two NRL games and swapping between them and the two WCC games til about 4:45am.

Have you allowed for the end of day light savings? at 3am you turn your clock back to 2am.perthstormer wrote:funny what sport can do to you I had to get up at 3 am for work so once again imiss out on the double header which finsihes about 4 am hereSurandy wrote: Tonight, from what I can tell both games start at 12:30am at AEDT. Aussies vs SA game is under way and Aussies batting first, good start by Gilly and Haydos.
England vs Kenya game is affected by rain and a broken sooper soaker so game won't start til 2am as things currently stand and will be a 46 overs game.

The inaugural Twenty20 World Championship begins in September. Is this the beginning of the end for the 50-over game? By Daniel Brigham

As the World Cup rumbles on through its marathon six and a half weeks, a slim-line, nubile new kid is swaggering into view. The Twenty20 World Championship, with its promise of sixes, sixes and sixes, is on the horizon. Come September, when the inaugural tournament starts in South Africa, 50 overs may seem an awfully long time in cricket

Good game by the Aussies last night, given their performance it almost looked like they had been taking it easy for the past month or two in preparation for this game.
Now for the final pool game tonight to decide who the second team in Group B will make it through to the Super 8's. A win by Bangladesh will see them get through at the expense of India.
Australia and Ireland should kick off the Super 8's section of the WCC on Tuesday night. I say should as the website http://content-aus.cricinfo.com/austral ... e=schedule says the game is D2 vs A1 but they've listed us playing West Indies who finished D1.

I can't believe the chucker gets offended when crowds call him a chucker. Go figure.perthstormer wrote: I cant belive that chucker got wisden player of the year
I also can't believe the table for the start of the Super 8's, under whatever warped formula the ICC have used we are starting 2nd and Sri Lanka have a huge advantage in the net run rate even though after the pool games both sides had a comparable net run rate.. And I still can't work out how A1 vs D2 as the first Super 8's game was scheduled ends up being Australia vs West Indies when we were A1 and Ireland were D2.
Good news is we are batting first so we'll get to watch the guys bat before heading to bed.

Found out yesterday the logic behind this, each team retained their results from the pool game for the other team that made it through. Ie Australia beat South Africa so we carry forward our 2 points plus our net run rate from that game, same for Sri Lanka in their pool. I had mistakenly thought we would play every team during the Super Eights, ie 7 games rather than 6.Surandy wrote:I also can't believe the table for the start of the Super 8's, under whatever warped formula the ICC have used we are starting 2nd and Sri Lanka have a huge advantage in the net run rate even though after the pool games both sides had a comparable net run rate.
In the Super Eights each team plays every team in the other pools once. So between the carry over result and the Super Eight games every team has played every other team. The top 4 then play off for the final, 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3.
