Well I'm doing my bit, bringing three rugby league 'Virgins' on friday.
Think 15,000 is a bit high so will go for 12,325 approx!!!

Won't be a dampener at the end................Diehard_Storm wrote:Way to put a dampener on the season opener.Tigger wrote: I'd love to be proven wrong but with the game on FTA I'm guessing it'll be a pretty lame crowd
Most people who would actually think of coming to a game will be sitting at home watching - they don't have to pay entry and they don't have the hassle of getting home........
Again, I HOPE I'm wrong............we'll see tho
Should be a cracking crowd - and I think anything over 13K should be just fine. Season opener. No AFL. Last years' grand finalists. Benji marshall going up against Inglis. All looks good from my perspective.
I just seriously can't see a huge crowd I'd be happy for everyone to say 'we told you so!!!'
When I want your opinion - I'll give it to you!
yeah but we could also still be riding the Origin high, that was an almost sell out ok it might have been mostly people from up north but at least if as pommy storm put it rugby league virgins came to the Origin and saw our great game and then came to the rest of the season they could return Friday night.
She's gone! The wicked witch is gone! Oh - I like snowballing too!
oh dear... *sigh*
I'd expect something around 12,500 - 14,000 for this one. First game of the season, Friday night, on the back of a good 2006 season and grand final appearance... Fingers crossed for more tho.

unfortunately, i think regardless of how many people we get, the sydney mobs will still deathride us as not getting a big enough crowd, makeing comparisons to the 'other' grand finalists getting a 50k crowd, why can melbourne only get 15k?
Last night on the radio some1 from the club said they were hoping for 16,000 but with it being live against the gate and all the other sport going on this weekend i think 14,000 is more realistic
Go the mighty storm.

Maybe 11,000 but then that depends on who is counting at the gate.
I think with the GP on, game live on TV and general lack of knowledge
of when our games are on, numbers will be low for the first few games.
But hey would love it to be a sell out though.

I don't know whether it meant up on the first home game last year or the game agains tthe Tigers last year. Our crowd against the Tigers last year was about 12,500 I think so if we're 20% up on that its a great sign
