Melbourne star Matt Orford has admitted his future at the club hinges on whether the Storm can retain rising coach Craig Bellamy.
With speculation ever present that Brisbane may entice their former assistant coach back north when his contract expires this year. Orford said he will wait and see what Bellamy does before he signs with the Storm.
"For sure, that's going to be a big factor," Orford said, who was unlucky not to tour with the Kangeroos last year.
"There are a few blokes coming off contract here, so I'm going see the outcome of a few things.
"I'm not going to rush into anything."
"Being the first year we'er still getting to know each other and a few years under your belt might do you wonders.
"I haven't had a long-term coach yet.
" I had 'Opes' (Chris Anderson for half a season, then I had Mark Murray for and a season and now Craig has come in.
"I think all the boy see that he has plenty of potential.
"He was an understudy to one of the best coaches (Wayne Bennett) in the comp, so he has something to give us."
Central to last year's success was the form of Orford and overnight sensation Billy Slater, both whom are coming off contract.
Queensland hooker Cameron Smith, another find under Bellamy, is also off contract.
However, with his family still in Brisbane and with Bennett's future decided on a year-to-year basis, Bellamy has always been tipped to return.
soruce:daily telegraph this is terrible if this is true..this will ruin our chances at being champions again..

No, I'm going to have to disagree with this one simo, what the Storm REALLY needs is more cheerleaders WITHOUT skimpy outfits....if you know what I mean!simo wrote:3. Employ more cheerleaders in skimpy outfits!
Sorry Gentlemen..........but I have to disagree with "sexist" point no. 3
I think I speak on behalf of alot of girls out there.
What us girls really need is, to see the Storm Boys show off more of their chests, muscles & legs!!!
hehehehehehe.........
Oh - but I do agree with points 1 and 2

Regarding the first post....
I don't think that Belamy is a shoe in for the job.
He'd be in the top part of a long list of candidates.
Isn't Lazo up there coaching the forwards, the Walters boys and Langer would be in the mix with another half dozen.....
I'm no expert on the Broncos but I think keeping Belamy is all in the Storms hands.
Keep on being a (Happy) successfull team and every one will want to stay.
We have a good list I hope we keep them all and with money to spend after Kearns, Howe, Ross and Kearney retire (hopefully not to soon) We'll have a good short to middle term future.
GO Storm !!!!!
