The end was good to,
a lot of movies end without letting the viewer know what happens to the characters in the future, but this ending gave great closure to the whole story.
I got the extended version of TFOTR today, its got a fair amount of extra's in it.

I've only seen the extended (or should I say proper) versions of the movies so I'm torn between watching this final chapter on theaters or wait 11 months for the DVD to watch it as how it's meant to be seen.

plus I couldnt give up the opportunity to watch it on the big screen.
The extended versions were fantastic at the cinema, but god they were so damn long!!!
They seemed like they were twice as long as the theatrical release.
I can't wait to see Return Of The King again, I saw it on Boxing Day at 9am and I'm aiming to go see it again this Saturday afternoon with some mates that haven't seen it yet.
Question about the movie: did anyone yell out to Frodo "it's behind you!" when he was in Shelob's lair? I was soooooo tempted to when I saw the movie. The session I went to people were clapping during the movie when the fellowship won a fight or battle.

I went to the first showing boxing day too and the same thing happened people were clapping at parts. The spider scene was great, good effects.Surandy wrote:The extended versions were fantastic at the cinema, but god they were so damn long!!!

Visually spectacular and excellently acted, but the script....
The writers are not worthy to bring JRR his pen.
There was no need to edit the story to pander to the expectations of the Hollywood establishment.

I didn't think that there was anything wrong with Tolkien's ending.simo wrote:The end was good to,

We must all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately
