He isn't. He is signed for next year and is needed. 2022 may well be a different story.blazza18 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 13, 2020 9:58 amWhy is Hughes a big domino?Shuttlesworth99 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 9:54 pm It’s actually looking like a really formidable 2021 side. I just can’t see how Jahrome fits in the side if Cam plays on this year. They have to play Harry Grant which means Cam sees time at half back, that’s just what I see.Lucas wrote: ↑Fri Nov 13, 2020 4:54 pmHe isn't. I think Harry would stay and play with Cam in the right circumstances. But Harry is an 80 minute number 9 and really deserves to be that player.
On the flip side, Cam Smith is exactly the same but clearly deserves it even more.
Harry will get the opportunity to be that 9 somewhere and if it isn’t at the Storm I don’t think it will be just as a loan again, and rightfully so.
Our ace is that Cam is a winner. He will put himself and the team in the best position to go back to back.

I also read he was looking at $700k to stay at the Storm but we were closer to $500k.

I find it really hard to value him - but I would say much closer to what the Storm are offering

Ditto - which links to the whispers of the Matt Burton interest.
I’m pretty confident if Jahrome gets a huge offer, I don’t think the Storm will stand in his way even for 2021 if it keeps the Smiths and Harry in purple for 2021.
Jahrome is a good player but he's not worth being in the to 10-15 paid players in the comp, which that sort of money would make him. Jury is still very much out on how he'd go being the number 1 playmaker, without a Smith or a Munster to run the show for him. As you would only pay that sort of money to a player who you intended to be the number 1 playmaker.
Can't agree with this, why would we grant him an early release but not JAC?Shuttlesworth99 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 10:15 amDitto - which links to the whispers of the Matt Burton interest.

Yep. The Burton theory is linked to Jahrome getting an offer can’t and won’t match.Shuttlesworth99 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 10:15 amDitto - which links to the whispers of the Matt Burton interest.

Because the log jam in the 9s department could see cam shift into the 7 - which i find exciting if Harry is in 9 and B Smith in 13. Jahrome is only in the halves because of fit as it is anyway, where else can he possibly fit other than as a bench utility?Lucas wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 11:42 amCan't agree with this, why would we grant him an early release but not JAC?Shuttlesworth99 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 10:15 amDitto - which links to the whispers of the Matt Burton interest.

JAC is a superstar winger and we don’t really have any moves up our sleeves that could give close to the production or dynamics.

I agree, Jahrome gets the luxury of not being the number one playmaker half back. But $900K a year is what you pay the best halves who completely control the game which Jahrome hasn’t been - but hasn’t needed to be.Lucas wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 11:41 am Jahrome is a good player but he's not worth being in the to 10-15 paid players in the comp, which that sort of money would make him. This is what's terrible about players being able to sign anywhere a year before they're off contract.
Agree with this. He'll never be in a better position being in our system and having Smith run the show for us. The same thing can be said about Munster as well.Lucas wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 11:41 am Jahrome is a good player but he's not worth being in the to 10-15 paid players in the comp, which that sort of money would make him.
