pretty boring article, of course clubs will be looking at Welchy. An interesting bit though: Welch is not the only Storm player off contract at the end of the season, with Will Chambers, Jesse Bromwich, Kenny Bromwich, Brodie Croft and Scott Drinkwater some of the names that also fall under that category."
I didn't think any of these guys were off conract?

Melbourne Storm has added to its backline depth by signing Nicho Hynes until the end of the 2020 NRL season.
Currently playing for the unbeaten Sunshine Coast Falcons in the Intrust Super Cup (ISC), the 22-year-old had his first official training run as a Storm player at Gosch’s Paddock this morning.
Originally from northern New South Wales, Hynes played for the Manly NYC team before spending two seasons with the Mackay Cutters where he played 42 ISC matches.
He joined the Falcons for the 2019 season and has played in all eight matches so far this year, filling roles at fullback, five-eighth and in the centres.
In 50 ISC matches, he has crossed for 17 tries.
Storm general manager – football Frank Ponissi said Hynes had impressed the club during a pre-season stint with Storm over the summer.
“Nicho has continued on to have a great start to the year with the Falcons, and we expect he will have a very successful career with us at Storm,” he said.

I would have guessed Cheyse was contracted for less than that. He was coming back from serious injury - in and out of first grade.
I do know Scott is on $500K per year I thought that was massive overs at the time and unfortunately it has turned out to be the case so far.

Scott Drinkwater has decided not to take up the another year option on his Storm contract and test the open market. He believes he is now third in line for the full back spot (Herald Sun). Rumor has the Roosters want him as Cronks replacement (Sydney papers).
Bulldogs want Joe Stimson before 30th June this year as he is not getting any game time at Melbourne (Sporting News).
