When the Storm were thrashed earlier this year in a Monday night match at Townsville, Gallop sent Cowboys chief executive Peter Jourdain a text message that said: ''Isn't Monday night football great!''
The Storm translated this to be a continuation of what they believe to be the NRL's vindictiveness.
Gallop ridicules the suggestion, saying, ''I did send the text but it had nothing to do with the Storm. It was because the Cowboys hate Monday night football. They prefer Saturday night. It had nothing to do with who they beat.''

Peter Maher made a good point about the rorts in the other article.
If the police laid no charges, then one must ask how big it really was. Could of been blown out of proportion.

I thought all clubs hate playing on Monday night David. You of all people should know that, seeing you offer clubs money to play on that night.

Even if Gallop is telling the truth (which I doubt) he's still a dickhead.
The reason the Cowboys hate Monday night games is because approximately 40% of their regular attendance live 2 or more hours away. Busloads of people travel for up to 8 hours each way to get to Cowboys games on Saturdays - you can't just slip up and back on a Monday evening.
Gallop knows this and doesn't give a shit.
