Round 8 - Storm vs Sharks
Friday 30th April
6:00pm
AAMI Park
4th vs 12th.
I don't care how average the Sharks have been playing, this is almost always a tough game. We will be without Paps (and according to Craig, still likely to miss him for the Rabbitohs game at least). We will also almost certainly be without Jennings who had a heavy HIA due to a shoulder on Sunday.

No matter Table positions...the Sharks always turn up at AAMI and put the squeeze on Storm.yourhero wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 8:25 am Friday 30th April

Hope the boys just play the relentless grinding football CB wants from the team and don't get dragged into the non football rubbish (push and shove) that Cronulla have historically thrown up.
Remember this day, men, for it will be yours for all time
Christian Welch's offload game looms large as an important factor in this game to give us some second phase play if we are in a tight forward dog fight.
Welch leads the NRL for Offloads in 2021 with 21. He had 5 alone on the weekend against the Warriors.

We are 17 point favourites with the TAB which seems very high. Cronulla are 6.50 to win.
As for Chambers, as much as I love him, surely he will be out of breath by the second half, he has played 3/4 of a reserves game . Will, himself, said, he couldn't believe how much quicker the game was last week since he left and now he is going to go into a game which will be a much higher speed .

If you compare the likely 17, it makes sense why they are heavy outsiders. The line-up (respectfully) does not have the same class as ours. But it just never works out that way. You know they are going to play the game tough up the middle, try and make it a game of attrition and also try to niggle. They have done that for 5 years and it has mostly worked for them.
Nelson out is a big loss as he has quietly become a trojan who averages of over 100 metres per game in carry.
If we get infront then I think it will go to script but if they get an early break on us, like you said, they will try every tactic in the book to hold and niggle and with a few experienced forwards back in Toleman and Graham and Chambers experience, it could get very frustrating for our guys. We will need to be on our mettle.

Will Chambers, who I love for his time at the Storm, will go hard for the first twenty minutes to half hour but he can't be 100% match hardened fit surely. 12 of the 17 teammates are still there from the last time Chambers played in purple - the 2019 preliminary final loss to the Roosters at the SCG.
Shaun Johnson is the player I worry about for them. He can produce at a real high level when his mind is set on it. Matt Moylan will be given until Thursday's final training run to prove his fitness before the team flies to Melbourne.
Just to back up my point on us being an attacking focused team now. The Storm have scored more points (202) than any other team and our possession rate of 55 per cent is also top of the league. We have also had the most line breaks and line-break assists.
