Best of luck to Tom. It will be interesting to see who gets the backrow bench position.
If Joe is fit, he may be eased back into the team via the bench. Pat Kaufusi is the next man up based on recent selections. Or they could pick another big man in Vete, who was apparently dominant in the Q Cup.
Still spewing at the timing of Tino's injury...

Round 9 Injury Report

Mon 6 May 2019
General Manager of Football Frank Ponissi has the latest on injured players including young gun Scott Drinkwater and fan favourite Brandon Smith as we head into round nine.
A rising star who looked a certainty to step into the club's vacant fullback position, Drinkwater suffered a cruel injury blow when he tore his right pec during our pre-season trial match against the Cowboys.
Drinky had surgery to repair the ruptured pectoral muscle and is expected to return to the field as soon as later this month.
"Drinky is tracking well," Ponissi said.
"He is expected back somewhere between round 10 (Wests Tigers) and round 12 (bye round)."
Albert Vete injured his shoulder playing for Easts Tigers in the Intrust Super Cup competition in late April and his recovery is also on track.
"Albie just commenced skills training, he will probably be out for another four weeks - he is expected back in late May, early June."
Our round one win over the Broncos should have been a fairytale night for Storm debutant Tom Eisenhuth - who waited more than six years to play his second NRL game - but his return to professional rugby league was marred by another injury setback.
The 26-year-old was hospitalised only a few hours after the final siren and underwent surgery on a fractured larynx sustained during the game.
"Tom has shown plenty of resilience and determination since he joined us and he has bounced back as expected," Ponissi said.
"Tom is expected to start full training next Monday, May 13 and a decision will be made after that about when he will be ready to play."
Brandon Smith was rested last week with a calf strain and is a chance to play against the Eels in Brisbane.
"Brandon is 50/50 for this weekend - we will see how he goes at training this week."

Round 20 Injury Report

Wed 31 Jul 2019
Football Administration Coordinator Ryan Hoffman has the latest on injured players including premiership centre Curtis Scott and recent NRL debutant Billy Walters as we head into round 20.
Curtis Scott amassed 262 run metres, eight tackle breaks and a try in our round nine win over the Eels before he fractured his foot late in the contest.
"Curtis is running now and will start training with the main group in the next few weeks," Hoffman said.
"He is eyeing a return before finals."
Albert Vete has had an unfortunate run with injury this season, dislocating the same shoulder twice in the space of three months.
He is now focused on his return in 2020 as he recovers from surgery.
"Albie's surgery went well and he has started his rehab - unfortunately we won't see him on the field again this year," Hoffman said.
"He has been very positive about his recovery and is tracking well."
Cooper Johns was unlucky to miss out on his U20s State of Origin debut last month after injuring his foot while playing at five-eighth for the Sunshine Coast Falcons.
"Cooper hit the training track yesterday and he's running again," Hoffman said.
"He's not training with the main group yet but we are hopeful he will be in the next few months."
Billy Walters has returned to full contact training after his thumb surgery.
"We expect Billy will be back on the park towards the end of the year."
Both sides will have plenty to play for in our round 20 clash with the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium.
The Broncos are circling the top eight and will no doubt relish the opportunity to play in front of their home crowd under Friday night lights.
Meanwhile, the Storm playing group will be looking to bounce back after our golden point loss to Manly and will be strengthened by the inclusion of Suliasi Vunivalu on the wing.
The clash will mark Cameron Smith's 300th game as captain.
Scans this morning have confirmed that Welch has done an ACL. I didn’t really notice during the game but watching the replay you see him go down when changing angle with no defenders touching him.
Such bad luck. Feel for the big bloke.

Devastating news for Christian. We thought we were at this point 3 months ago, and got out of gaol, but alas not now.
Certainly a blow for our Premiership hopes. Christian was superb last night, as he has been for most of the season.
However, not over just yet ! Plenty of excellent players still in the purple.

Round 22 Injury Report

General Manager of Football Frank Ponissi has the latest on our injury list as we head into round 22.
Key utility Brandon Smith was a late out for our clash with the Rabbitohs last week after he rolled his ankle during captain's run.
"He's probably another two to three weeks away," Ponissi said.
"He will definitely be back for Manly (round 24) and he's a slight chance for next week against the Titans."
Premiership centre Curtis Scott played his first game for the Sunshine Coast Falcons on the weekend after 13 weeks on the sidelines.
"Curtis played 56 minutes on Sunday and will play a full game this week for the Falcons," Ponissi said.
"He has pulled up well and is focused on a return to first-grade ahead of the finals."
Jahrome Hughes has been named to start at fullback in Saturday night's top four clash with the Raiders at AAMI Park, with Ryan Papenhuyzen named in the 21-man squad on the interchange bench.
"Hughesy was ruled out with back spasms last week (against the Rabbitohs) but he will play this week - he is not in any doubt."
"Paps had a mid-foot sprain."
"He will complete a fitness test on Friday. At this stage we expect he will play."
