I understand the sentiment and nostalgia here but he is too old and past it. Much prefer going with Stimson, Kenny, Welch, etc

It's a great feel good story, but at 33 his best years are well past him.
At least he's better back up than Nate Myles, but he won't be back up.
Anyway, he's a club great and I love him. I just would have closed the book altogether and not re-open it.

I doubt they're paying him much. Plus with Cronk gone, we have extra money

Gee not much respect being shown for a Storm legend.

Oh well, I think his role next year is more to do with him playing a mentoring role to our younger squad members.

Welcome back for your farewell year Hoffy.

My thoughts exactly. I believe he's finishing here because he wants to settle in Melbourne afterwards. At least he loves our city. I really hope Mel does her blogs again.

Not besmirching his name and reputation as a Storm legend, but honestly, please say it's just for Origin time cover and squad depth. He really is past it.

^^^^

I'd give Hoffy a starting role if this was to occur! Can you just imagine how loathed we'd be if this was to occur. I recall Brisbane Lions' absolute dominance of the AFL in the early 2000's. The 3 consecutive flags they won were done with ease, they basically played keepings-off the opposition and won the 3 in a row in a canter. They were not universally loved by us Victorians as a result.

The disappointment over our sheer dominance of the competition is the poor return in ultimate success being 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 when we really could have done anything.

Pretty sure Smith will still be playing when the next generation of Bromwich brothers make their debut.

I think your right with your prediction lol.
I guess the younger guys that were playing for the Storms age grades would of had good dealings with Hoffy. So for him to come back and the younger guys having progressed now to FG, they will naturally gravitate towards Ryan and it's a good-feel story for sure.
