You've got to look 3/4 through the article, but Storm nominated as a potential home along with the Flake and South Sydney Storm...

Could be Smith's first use of funds to centrally contract a star player. Wouldn't it be great if Storm benefited from the process before other Clubs.

Thoughts ?

no chance, he is good but we don't need big money recruits. we do better developing our own saving the cap space for retention

He hasn’t played in the NRL since the Melbourne vs Brisbane 2009 Prelim, and I reckon he’ll really struggle to adapt back in the NRL. The AFL is a completely different sport. Sure rugby union converts have been successful in coming back to league as they have a few of the same simple rules (knocking the ball forward is a mistake, needing to throw the ball backwards, offside etc.). The AFL has none of that and he might be shocked at how much the NRL has changed in five years due to all the rule changes and how the game is played.

Hopefully Hymel is giving Karmichael good reports about life down in Melbourne. I think KHunt would be a good signing for us regardless of being a code switcher etc. but the question is who gets shafted to give him game time

Why would we want him. We have Hampton at pivot and Slater at Fullback.

It was never about his footballing ability. It was about him being a walking billboard for a losing sport war in Queensland.

I'd love him in the team. Could play five eight or centre.

Has worked his absolute arse off to transform his body to AFL ready and has played nearly 50 games at elite level now. Mugs don't do that.
Would love him at Storm. hard worker. Will take some time to get the NRL physique back, but no reason why he can't be a star again.

Certainly wouldn't say no as he's still got a good few years of service in him. Only at the right price though and not breaking the bank.
