1.Slater
2.Duffie(bellamy very impressed with his pre season so far)
3.Oneill(has minor back injury)
4.Stanley / Niko(been training at center)
5.Neilsen /Quinn(still has an injured back and hasn't started full training yet)
6.Widdop/Maurice Blair/kelly(had Ostetis Pubis surgery, will probably miss start of year)
7.Cronk
No doubt there will be injuries throughtout the year so our centers and wings will do a lot of swapping around. Then there is Dane Chisholm and Tu'u Maori

Obvious ones are
1.slater
7.cronk
3.nielsen
2.duffie
then you get o'niell who will be there but could be either centre or wing, quinn might be on the wing, widdop could be in there anywhere, kelly, chisholm or maurice blair could be 5/8 and if we have signed neumann, he could be in the outside backs as well.
then niko and maori are probably the back ups.

I'll name the whole team
1.SLater
2.Duffie
3.Neilson
4.Stanly / O'Neil
5.Quinn
6.Kelly
7.Cronk
8.Norrie
9.Smith
10.Woolnough
11.Blair
12.Manu
13.Hinchcliffe
I can see Bellamy using Quinn if he is fit and healthy due to having some young and inexperienced backs. He'd probally want that experience. Not sure how he's going though.

I think Quinn will be used off the bench similar to 07/08. He did well around the middle as a lock type player.
Beau is a certain starter you would think. O'Neil/Neilsen or Stanley will play the other centre position with Duffie on one wing and O'Neil/Neilsen or Stanley the other wing.
Someone will most probably be released, Quinn/Kelly or Widdop. Im thinking Quinn.
So this is what im tipping'
1.Slater
2.Duffie
3.Champion
4.Stanley/Neilsen
5.O'Neil
6.Kelly
7.Cronk
14.Quinn, with Hinchcliffe moving to starter
18.Stanley or Neilsen
No room for Widdop with everyone fit, I hear Kelly wont be available in the opening month.
The young players we have are really promising.

Not too fussed about 5/8 so Widdop, Kelly whoever feels like pulling on the '6'
I wouldn't be surprised if the team for round one looks like this:
1.Slater
2.Duffie
3.O'Neill
4.Champion
5.Nielsen
6.Widdop
7.Cronk
8.Norrie
9.Smith
10.Blair
11.Hinchcliffe
12.Manu
13.Quinn
With so much backline talent I think there's an opportunity for a good ball running lock and I think Bellamy may have Quinny in mind. Good hands, excellent tackler and can pass. It also gets him away from the sideline where he often gets lost in defence; way to often he moves too far in from the wing - as though he thinks he should be defending at centre.

We must all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately
what about stanley coming off the bench to play that role 60 mins in? ive gone off quinn a little, maybe because of his absence lately but im leaning towards the younger guys now, people say we need experince and put him in but i think the experience the young guys got in 2010 will settle them a lot this year. and if we can use him through origin or with injuries i think its better to have his experience then. what about stanley coming off the bench to play that role?TC wrote:I wouldn't be surprised if the team for round one looks like this:

think having blair at 10 is a great idea, a front rower with hand and foot skills is ideal. i think we have some depth in the back row and still skinny up front but i think proctor deserves and starting spot this year too.

Thanks to a man who is the current captain of the national squad (not to mention the bloke who made the bold move to switch the greatest fullback of the modern era to pivot), the role of the fullback in rugby league has changed to the point where he is an extra playmaker in additon to the hooker and halves. Widdop is a fullback by trade and the glimpses of brilliances he displayed in 2010 should give him first crack at five-eighth where I know he'll tear it up.luvin.the.storm wrote:Me likes the look of this backlineLESStar58 wrote:1. Probably needs another year in reserves to sharpen up for the Origin period.luvin.the.storm wrote:Me likes the look of this backlineLESStar58 wrote:1. Slater
