According to the Storm website, Robbie sufferd a minor hamstring strain early in the second half of the trial on Saturday night. Not good signs for Robbie and the year ahead. I think another season like that and it's all over for Ross and League

According to some sources up in Wagga, Robbie was almost in tears outside the leagues club as he felt that this could be the end for him as not only did he suffer a minor hamstring but he had a couple of bulging discs in his back as well.

Simo, according to nrl.com all three charges from the weekend's trial matches were dropped, and that includes Robbie Kearns. It doesn't say why though.simo wrote:According to nrl.com, Kearns is on report and Ross IS injured
its his hamstring.
Ross is injured and I spoke to Brian from the MSSC just before and he seems pretty sure that Billy Slater will play full back due to Robbie being injured. I may have misinterpretted what was said but the way it sounded Robbie may not play in 2004.
According the Herald Sun article today looks that way too. Maybe even the end of his career. That would a real pity as he has had so much bad luck with injuries and he is such a crowd puller and knows how to sniff out a try. Hope he can turn it around quickly this year and have a great year.

Unfortunately, I fear this may be the case. It is always sad to see a player's career cut short by injury, especially such an important premiership player for the club. If it ends up that Robbie has played his last game, I would like to thank him for the service he has given to the club, and wish him well in the future.Thunderstruck wrote:bye bye robbie.
Having said that, who knows, it might not be that bad! BooBoo might be ok.

From today's Herald Sun:
LUCKLESS Robbie Ross's career is on hold again after scans revealed the Melbourne Storm fullback has suffered a recurrence of a back injury.
Ross visited a lumbar specialist yesterday and, while the injury is not as severe as the one that limited the former Australian Test star to five games last year, he is certain to miss the start of the NRL season.
"The specialist has told us that Robbie has suffered a minor recurrence of the disc problem he had last year," Storm physiotherapist Mary Toomey said.
"At this stage the surgeon just wants to manage it with physio and see if it settles down after a couple of weeks."
