I read the goal kicking chant liricks but it sounds different to what I can make out from the TV coverage.
I get the impression the chant I hear is from the Lazerus stand.
I stand at the north east of the ground near the guys with "the Bai Stand" banner.

it originated from the nikau stand
when marty turner was filling in for the injured matt orford, but marty sadly got into a car crash and broke his leg so storm de-listed him
only recently has the chant been sung in the lazurus stand

So is the chant the one which reads blah blah: "he wears a magic hat".

the one I've heard on the coverage sounds great, it would be great if it was louder (more people sang) at the game.

There seemed to be quite a few supporters at the sharks game. I swear I saw a fan on TV that I spoke to at the Roosters game at aussie stadium 27th July.

Go Storm!

Well no actually, we were singing the Magic Hat song well before then. We were using it in '99 when Matty Geyer was kicking.

A bit more to the story than that, but anyway..... it wasn't as if he was abandoned by the club.

Interestingly, Marty is now playing QLD Cup - 5/8 for Redcliffe as I recall.

So good to read the facts from an original.

A chant booklet was produced early in 1999 with over 50 different chants listed to help get noise happening on away trips.

It was then updated as 'The Storm Troopers' War Songs and Chants, I'm sure some would still have a copy floating around somewhere, there were after all 1500 colour editions printed.
