Global Warming - The Tree Planting Myth

Using some figures from sites I have the following worked out:

The average Australian produces 28 tonnes of CO2 from living, breathing, consuming (food, clothing, electricity), transport etc.
On average, a tree will consume 7.3kg of CO2
One person will need 3,836 trees to consume as much pollution as they create (this is a total figure - not a per year)
Australia's current population requires 76,712,328,767 to offset their CO2 production.
To plant, or have this many trees requires approximately 690,410,959 square kilometres of tree plantations (allowing 3 square metres per tree).
Australia is 7.6 million square kilometres in size.
We would need 91 Australia's totally planted with trees to absorb our CO2 production. Not sure if you've noticed, but we don't have 91 Australia's worth of land to plant trees in.

Trees are good - but they certainly ain't the solution!

That is really quite staggering when you see the numbers in front of you like that.

Yes,trees do help,but unfortunitly,we are also running out of places to plant them!The urban sprawl is fast increasing more and more and with it the land we have in which to plant more flora is depleting with it.

We produce more carbon because we consume. Therefore - the largescale reduction of humanity could result in a large reduction in green house gasses. Weird isn't it!

Yeah, but they can't give of CO2's forever TC, nor do they create any more carbon, so it could clearly be a case of better deading than spreading in their eyes.
