Captain Planet was on the ABC in the 90s, he was the champion of the environment with help from the Planeteers Quami, Wheeler, Linka, Gee and Mati, the Planeteers had rings sent to them by Gia the spirit of the earth Quami had Earth, Wheeler had Fire, Linka had Wind, Gee had Water and Mati had Heart they battled eco villians like Luton Plunder, Hoggish Greedly, Duke Nucum, Doctor Blight, Verminous Scum, Sly Sludge.  The show highlighted things like animal preservation.  The monkey's name was Sugi and he came with Mati.
