I don't really follow AFL however I have gone for the Dees since I was 10 years old but that aside, I think it would be terrible for an AFL club named "Melbourne" to either relocate or become extinct. The only other club with a name linking it to Melbourne as a city is North Melbourne (and even then they've only recently changed that back from just the "Kangaroos"). Yes, yes I know there are several other clubs linked to Melbourne by suburb name but none others (except North Melbourne) have that Melbourne link in their names. I think it would be a shame...
