ESPN is showing the Final Round of the National spelling bee

my god this kid is asking the judges to re-pronounce the word over and over again

the word is GIROLLE

and hes like "is it gee-roll or gee-rall?"

ill give updates about it coz its pretty entertaining, but thats weather i can be bothered or not, il end up just bagging these kids

and he spelt it wrong

It was a train wreck - couldn't turn away. Fascinating that they delayed Greys Anatomy to finish the showing of a Spelling Bee! My Gawd! If only CNein could learn how to spell - what happy Sports Lovers we'd all be....

I think there should be a rule in spelling comps like that - words from English only... c'mon - german, yiddish, japanese, french.... It's hard enough to remember i before e expect after c (except for the exceptions) than to remember sometimes there's a d at the end of stupid french words! :)

at one point they cut to this little girl and they said:

"shes given up volleyball and soccer to focus on her spelling this year"
and she got her first word wrong

HAHA!

And of course the kid who won the event actually prefers mathematics and music to spelling. The other two he can use his mind to create stuff, the spelling is all just a bit of memorisation. Does he now like the Spelling Bee a little more than he used to, being National Champion and all? Uhm - a little I suppose... ;)

We need Rabs to commentate on the Spelling Bee.
Speaking of ESPN The Ocho, when will they show the Dog Trials again??
