The biggest game of the 2006/07 Hyundai A -League regular season will take place this Saturday night (kick-off 7:00pm) when Melbourne Victory takes on rivals Sydney FC at Telstra Dome, and all Victorians are encouraged to be there for the blockbuster match.

Following Victory’s great start to the season with a 2-0 win against Adelaide United last Friday, the club is hoping to break the record for highest crowd attendance in the Hyundai A-League regular season with a crowd of over 30,000 people.

The Melbourne crowd will be in fine form and are looking forward to showing the visiting Sydney fans why they are the best supporters in the country.

Sydney currently holds the record for the highest Hyundai A-League regular season crowd (25,557) and Victory want to beat it this week.

A win could also see Melbourne go to the top of the Hyundai A-League ladder, pending other results.

Come on Melbourne. Come on Victory!

Avoid the queues and secure the best seat in the house by pre - purchasing your ticket at tickmaster.com.au or by calling 136 100.

There's only one drawback of going to see the Victory this Saturday night! And that would be missing out on seeing Storm play and be presented with the Minor Premiership! :)

Good on him/her for trying to increase their crowd on saturday night, and good luck to them too however it would've been nice if he/she took the time to find out when our game was. As if we're gonna miss being officially crowned '2006 Minor Premiers' and seeing a win over Manly...  :?

Note: I am a fan of Melbourne Victory and wish them luck meeting their crowd target and recording a win over Sydney...  ;D

Yep agreed about Victory.
I'm a fan of any team with Melbourne in it (except of course with AFL cos Richmond is THE team  ;))

How many people are going to go and see Sydney FC without Dwight Yorke?
And since he is getting on a plane to join friend and ex-team mate Roy Keane at Sutherland it will be interesting to see how many show up now.

Hope they get a good crowd though.

Ah silly me, that was the reason why we moved to TD for this game, and I've fogoten all about it.

We have already sold 30 thousand tickets for this game. Will be huge.

All the best to Storm tomorow.

Already sold 30,000+ tickets....will be interesting to see if they all show up......I don't think they will

Not one of the TV News services tonight in Melbourne promoted the game at all.....it was all the talk about Yorke heading back to the UK and nothing about their was a game in Melbourne.

In fact Channel 10 and Channel 7 promoted the fact Storm would be presented with the Minor Premiership tomorrow night.

I hope there is a crowd for the A-League but as I have posted before.....I'm not sure the interest is really there and once 'certain' ethic groups get hold of teams I'm afraid it will go the way of the old NSL. (I really hope I'm wrong).

Lets remember that apart from the crowd figures of Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory are taken away you would see that the figures are apart the same as the NRL teams of the area...if not worse.
