Hatton takes Tszyu's title

English boxer Ricky Hattion is the new IBF light welterweight champion of the world after upsetting Australia's Kostya Tszyu in their world title fight in Manchester.

Hatton won by technical knockout after Tszyu's trainer Johnny Lewis prevented the Russian-born Australian from returning to the ring after the 11th round.

Tszyu looked physically exhausted in the later stages of the fight, and Hatton took advantage.

A gracious Tszyu told the sell-out crowd that it was to soon to say whether his defeat meant the end of his boxing career.

"I'm not saying that's the end of my career, maybe isn't, but I'm saying today I lost to the better fighter and there's no shame for me to say this," he said.

The upset win leaves Hatton undefeated in his career after 39 fights, while Tszyu's win-loss record falls to 31-2.

Was a good fight - if Kostya has to fight again I hope he accepts a rematch and retires either way... He took quite a beating against Hatton.
Plus losing to a stinking Pom is never good
