There are two ways we could look at this ... we should never have let their last partnership so many runs, or we can applaud our number 9 and 11 for outscoring them.
The way the top order played it is amazing we got anywhere near the target.

I'll let the sour grapes poke through here for a minute and give a deserved BOO HISS to Billy Bowden who let an absolute PLUM decision go by. If he'd actually have given that decision (below the knee and middle stump) we would have (by the final score line) have won by 10-15 runs.

Kudos to Warney, Lee and Kasper for getting so close. Boo to Flintoff - possibly the most single match-winning effort I have ever seen. Boo to Ponto for NOT batting first up! What were you thinking? Boo to the tool that left the cricket ball lying around where Pigeon was going to run! Kudos to the English cricket fans for making the cricket sound like a soccer match.

Two runs - oh so close. What an unbelievable match.

Yea we should of batted first especially considering what happened to McGarth.

That happen after the toss.

Now lets see, you win the toss and send us in, you play touch footy and leave cricket balls lying around to injure your own players, you get us out for under 200 in the second innings and you can't give credit where credit is due for us not dropping our heads (like we use to) and winning the game.

Gee, hate to see what you'll say when you lose the series ;)

Emprie 1
Convicts 1

Bring on the rest of the series

Congrats to both sides for playing a compelling and nail biting game.

Buzz, I noticed Billy Bowden rarely gave LBW's in that match. But he was consistant to both sides.

 England have actually won an ashes match in a LIVE series.....but I thought they could only win once the series was decided. Isn't this a first in the last 12 years or so?

Congrats England.

Australia, the batsman should hang their heads in shame and get batting advice off of Brett Lee!

A series the Aussies could possibly lose....how......weird.

:faroah:
Glory, Glory to South Sydney!

Yes it was a VERY good replacement wasn't it?

Get give us those sort of replacements and I'll have to place a beat on 4-1 to us and not 3-2 that I have at the moment.

All the Aussie batsmen need to hang their heads in shame. Imagine allowing a bowler to top score for the team!!!
