Former Storm player Matt King has announced his retirement, effective at season's end. A champion player who will be sorely missed. Good luck in retirement.

Mattpoet I agree wholeheartedly. Kingy still has a heap of fans in Melbourne.

Well said Matt. Easily the player I miss the most out of everyone who left. Just another nobody who Bellamy turned into a somebody.

Onya Kingy! Whenever I talk to a Rugby League novice, the story of the garbo who became a Premiership winner and State of Origin star is at the forefront of stories.

Long live the King!

Awesome guy, just as good on the field - I was really hoping he'd come back for one more year too (even if he rarely played) Not to be, I wish him all the best, he deserves to enjoy retirement!

It's amazing how on the same day a KING and a PRINCE both announced their retirements from footy
