I feel sorry for Brett Stewart and the way he was treated in this case.People if it happened to any of our players we would have stuck by him till all the facts were made public.I said at the time that I would wait for all the facts before I have an opinion.I can now understand the anger towards giddyup from the Stewart brothers,the police have even said he wasn`t drunk and he was very cooperative with them.I just hope that Brett Stewart can move on from this and does well with his career( except against Storm)

You hate news limited as much as we do? Shit well im for all
hate on those imbeciles,our understanding is that your club
is a present to John Ribot post SL war which tore the ARL
loyal clubs apart financially which included Manly,Souths
Easts,Parramatta and others,from my limited memory and rumour
Manly was where most of the cash came from to kill off SL
which is why we were in such a predicament post war and
even to this day are still struggling to recover from such a foul
time

We should have been completely repayed for our loyalty
to the code instead of the money,instead we got a few mil for
taking on the bears who were like a cancer and were plotting to
take our club out for good,but as our only reward we still had the
license and North Sydney was erased from it,this was one merger
with hidden knives for the saviours to be,Illawarra would be dead
to if they tried to pull of such a heist on the dragons

It must be very difficult for you guys to hate your own owners
personally i think Scott Penn is an petulant child in need of a good
whoopin due to his handling of Delmage's financial downfall during
the GFC,Old men aren't fans of everyone knowing their financial
situation and Delmage deserved to call it a day with privacy surrounding
his true reasons for having to fade out

I didn't realise you guys knew the truth about News,i thought you
could have been blissfully unaware of the history of News and the
repercussions of such an evil company being involved in our great
game,even as just owners of ANY team

Brisbane vs Melbourne is what i believe to be a complete and utter conflict
of interest in every way possible,im not saying there's some sort of F1 "team orders"
but i don't think one owner should own more than a single club in any league,hopefully
News sells Melbourne to someone financially suitable as you are still a growing club and
need to continue to suckle teet as we do with Penn Health (Although,with David Perry
at the helm we are headed towards self sufficiency and somehow you have grown in
members and financials since 2010 which i suspected might be your death knell,shows
how resilient your young club is and resilience is the one quality i respect above all others)

I don't so much mind the Anti-Manly hatred but i do believe people need to know what we
did to save the game in this country from a billionaire,it should be required reading as we
fans are subjected to probably a bit to much hatred due to something that happened in the
70s,at which time a good lot of our supporters were not born yet nor had any say on our
off-season buys,we are not given the due credit for trying to almost single-handidly fight off
such a foe

I for one don`t understand and have NO INTEREST in the SL and ARL war as it was PRE STORM.I had a passing interest in rugby League but now I LOVE it because of STORM.
As a VIC I grew up as an afl supporter( Fitzroy)but when my team merged with brisbane I knew that I wanted a VIC club to support and that was STORM.I have only been to a handful of afl games since 1998 and besides the GF afl doesn`t interest me anymore.
I for one didn`t understand all the rules of RL in 98 but after the first few games I picked them up so as you can see Chez even VICS can learn and understand RL.
I respect the way STORM have rebuilt the club since 2010.When Craig Bellamy and the players walked out enmasse to the waiting media I was a very proud STORM MEMBER.
I hated the way giddyup handled the situation by not meeting with the Coach and players before he ran to the media and the way that he deserted the club for 2 years.
I am even converting some sth aust; to rl and STORM.They are even commenting on all bad things with the refs , some crows supporters want BILLY to play for them.

Yes Chez, we hate News for what it did to us too! News had to pass any financial transaction as that's where the money came from and they also, I believe, vetoed a plan which would've allowed us to keep Inglis on top of Slater, Cronk and Smith saying that it was necessary for our image to let one of them go. News needs to leave the club and the game now!
