So Widnes survive and its Cas who take the walk of shame which plunges them into NL1 to join their 'friends' at world famous Featherstone Rovers

That's assuming the men in suits can't find anything wrong with the winner of the NL1 play-offs.

It has finally been confirmed that Castleford are taking the drop to NL1 for season 2005. This is the first time they have not been in the English RL's top division since they started. Demotion became a fact when SL announced yesterday (Tuesday) that both Whitehaven and Leigh have met the criteria for entry to SL and so the winner of the match between them this weekend coming will be promoted.
Cas will be assured of a warm welcome from their friends in Featherstone.
