New Strip Rule

Is anyone else worried at the opportunity for whingers to abuse the new stripping rule?

In the game between the Bunnies and the Roosters a number of times Fitzgibbon sooked and whinged about supposedly having the ball stripped. As a result the ref sent it up to the video ref to review it.

Games involving the likes of the Roosters, Dragons, Sea Eagles and Sharks could become quite boring if whingers are allowed to have the upper hand with this new rule.

For those of us who are not aware of it, care to explain what the new rule is?

The stripping rule is basically the same but now the video ref has the ability to rule on it. The way I believe it is supposed to work is that if the on-field ref is unsure if a strip has occurred then he can refer it to the video ref who can look at two (I think it's only two so the game is not delayed too much) replays and rule on it.

The breakdown as shown in the Bunnies vs Roosters game was that the on-field ref appeared to have formed his opinion and was ready to continue with the game but Fitzgibbon, and other Roosters whingers, were claiming (wrongly) that they were stripped of the ball and demanding the ref send it upstairs.

But if the ref can conduct himself as a REAL REF should knowing the rules he should tell the likes of the wingers he is running the game NOT them. Unfortunately most of the refs we have are not capable in officiating in 1st grade.
