Hull KR were always going to win this one. All the same it was another convincing and professional performance from the Robins with a few of their players going into the match without any recent rugby under their belts. What a memorable game for Jonathan Steel. He only went and scored five (5) tries!!!!!. A good team performance against probably the weakest team in their group.
Robins Team:
1. L.Wildbore,
2. J.Steel,
3. P.Parker,
4. K.Epati,
5. B.Ford;
6. P.Mansson,
7. P.Hasty;
8. J.Bovill,
9. P.Pickering,
10. M.Aizue,
11. J.Netherton,
12. A.Raleigh,
13. M.Blanchard.

Subs:
14. J.Walker,
15. J.Garmston,
16. C.Poucher,
17. N.Harmon.

Spot on cam; and this from the next tier of RL over here. One of the big positives over here is the way the game is spreading on the amateur front widely but within a co-ordinated structure. As you remind us by your comments, what matters is that folk put themselves up to play the game, produce entertaining and satisfying rugby and develop a wider following.

Bramley dropped out of the the professional game over here a few seasons ago. Instead of just re-forming and then being allowed back in, they've had to join with the other wannabees and prove themselves. It's great to hear that W Wizards, Bramley and other deserving clubs are producing such good rugby league.

By the way cam, Bramley's Latin motto is Non Sine Pulvere Palma (No
palm of victory without the dust of struggle) ... Now that's a good motto!

There were no upsets as no amateur team beat any professional team, though some put on a real good show e.g. Waterhead v Sheffield. See if you can pick out the French and Russian clubs. Oh and there was a tight game at Rochdale! I think the Hornets sealed it in the first minute! Now that must be close to a record score.
Powergen Challenge Cup Third Round
Siddal 6 - 50 Hull K R
Castleford 72 - 10 Hull Dockers
Workington 44 - 20 Wigan St Judes
Oldham St Annes 30 - 62 Whitehaven
Batley 40 - 14 St Gaudens
Doncaster 54 - 6 Stanningley
Featherstone 48 - 10 Thornhill The amateur visitors tried the strongarm stuff, but Rovers kept their discipline and won convincingly.
Blackpool 18 - 58 Toulouse
Rochdale 120 - 4 Illingworth I caught some of this on Radio Leeds. Illingworth came off at the end of the match to genuinely enthusiastic applause as despite the score they never gave up and earned the respect of everyone there. It was amazing and very pleasing to hear. Salt of the earth RL supporters!
Swinton 70 - 10 Lokomotiv Moscow
Keighley 62 - 14 Strela Kazan
Elland 12 - 50 York
Gateshead 6 - 56 Union Trezieste Catalan
London Skolars 14 - 58 Pia
Barrow 42 - 22 East Hull
Waterhead 16 - 22 Sheffield
Haydock 4 - 46 Hunslet

Northern Rail Cup
Warrington Wizards 24 - 24 Bramley Another close encounter!

engage Super League

Hull 36 - 33 Wakefield This was a superb game with a grandstand finish. Both teams had the lead near the end, both deserved a win, but Hull FC scored the most important points and got their battling win. Among the try scorers: Richard Swain for Hull and Semi Tadulala for Trinity Wildcats.

Although it's not overly suprising.
Featherstone 48 - 10 Thornhill The amateur visitors tried the strongarm stuff, but Rovers kept their discipline and won convincingly.
Congratulations. :)
Gateshead 6 - 56 Union Trezieste Catalan
Hmmm...not quite so keen on this result - Robins have drawn UTC in round 4.
Still, the theory is we probably have to beat one of the top teams to win the thing so let's call it a good warmup game. :D

Thanks TC ...and good luck to the Robins in the next round. All Fev have to do is beat Bradford Bulls in the next round and we are well on the way to the final!
I was mistaken when I said no amateur team had got through the last round. One match was played on the

Powergen Challenge Cup Third Round
Wath Brow 32 - 30 Dewsbury

So amateurs Wath Brow beat NL2 side Dewsbury Rams. I ought to have realised before now as I've already posted the next round draw! Doh!

Salford 12 - 30 Leeds
A comfortable victory for Leeds at The Willows. Marcus Bai got a try in the first half. Karl Harrison, Salford's coach unhappy with some of the decisions that went against them.

Bradford 32 - 22 Hull
Bradford held off a strong Hull team to grind out a 4th successive SL win. Stephen Kearney played his first match for Hull.

Wigan 62 - 6 Leigh
Wigan back on track as they thrashed bottom side Leigh at the JJB Stadium. Irish wingman Brian Carney celebrated his comeback with a first half try. The jinxed player then damaged his knee in the final minutes of this one sided match. Danny Tickle and Sean O'Loughlin were outstanding.
