NZ should walk it as long as they take it seriously.
There are one or two promising French players who deserve respect.
The one I'll mention is the Stand Off Maxime Greseque who we were lucky enough having play for Featherstone in the second half of last season. He was a crowd favourite and a bright bloke to boot. He's quoted as from French team PIA what a shame it doesn't say Featherstone Rovers ... maybe its because we couldn't tempt him to come back to Fev for next season. He's to go back to France to complete his law degree.
So I hope Alex C has a great game and likewise Maxime!

Cracking test match this arvo finished France 20 New Zealand 24 with tries from Max Greseque and Freddie Zitter!

Both these fine men played for Featherstone season 2004.
Freddie played Centre.
Well done both of you.

Result...another case of so near yet so far.

Up the Rovers!

From pontefractandcastlefordtoday:
FRENCH international half-back Maxime Greseque will not rejoin Featherstone Rovers next season.
Greseque made a big impact towards the end of last season after signing for Rovers on a short-term deal from French club Pia.
Rovers were keen to re-sign him for the 2005 campaign but he has now decided to stay in France to complete his studies for a law degree.
Featherstone coach Gary Price said yesterday: "It is a blow, although we'd had indications from Max that he would not be coming back.
"I had a good chat with him last week. He thoroughly enjoyed his time at Featherstone and if there was any club he was going to play for in this country it would always be Featherstone. He just feels he needs to finish his law degree in France. He also has a contract with Pia which was on the table for him when he came to Featherstone."
Rovers have a replacement lined up.
"I have 90 per cent of next season's squad signed. I am quite pleased with the way things are progressing but the finishing touches will be essential to the squad. We have a tight budget to work to and we have worked very hard in re-structuring the contract system this year."
They are also hoping to re-sign French centre Freddie Zitter who joined them from Limoux on a short-term contract last season.
Price said: "We are looking for some funding for Freddie and we will have to wait to see what happens.
