Didn't we have this issue a few years ago?USTRALIA and NSW trainer Tony Ayoub was last night at the centre of a devastating interchange mix-up that appears certain to cost the Bulldogs two competition points.
The NRL was left with no option but to impose the heart-breaking penalty after fresh video evidence confirmed the Bulldogs scored a last-gasp try with 14 men to defeat Penrith on Saturday night.
The drama began to unfold in the 78th minute, when five-eighth Ben Roberts replaced skipper Andrew Ryan as the Bulldogs' ninth interchange. Roberts did not cross the touchline until Ryan was subbed on the far side and had begun walking away from the play.
One tackle later, however, Ryan was summoned back on to the field when hooker Mick Ennis stayed down with injury.
Didn't the NRL say they would change the system so it 'NEVER HAPPENED AGAIN'?
While it is hard for the bulldogs supporters I'm not hearing much about the NRL Official that let it happen. We have had players fined for 'abuse' towards an interchange official for not letting the player enter the field of play until the other player had come off, so why isn't much being said about this official who not only got it wrong, but could cost two teams a top eight position?

From what I've read on this the interchange official actually did no wrong. He waited for Ryan to leave the field on the far side of the field before allowing Roberts on.Stormwarning[c] wrote: so why isn't much being said about this official who not only got it wrong, but could cost two teams a top eight position?
The total stuff up was the fault of the Ennis for staying down in yet another blatant attempt to milk a penalty, oh and the fault of the Bulldogs trainer for calling Ryan back onto the field and for Ryan actually listening to the trainer rather than an interchange official.
