I was just looking at the 2015 fixture and couldn't believe that the Storm are playing at Belmore against Canterbury on Monday 29 June (R16). It is going to be the first time in 17 years that an NRL game is going to be played at the Bulldogs' traditional home and an interesting fact - we were also the last team to play them there back in R23, 1998. Apparently, it is due to the Dogs' 80 year celebrations and there is also another one against Cronulla in R20.
While Belmore will probably never be able to become a full time venue again, I hope that it can return for 1-2 games per year. As a traditionalist, I think it's good for the game.
Am more than happy to be playing at Belmore and would've definitely penciled it in to go up and watch but being a Monday night put an end to that straight away.
