Are the NRL dumb or what. They wonder why AFL is beating their sport in everything and they stop junior development in Victoria. The AFL would never do this in NSW or Queensland. You have to get the kids, you get the kids the adults follow. This is how you grow the sport, if the little kid wants to grow up to be Billy Slater he has to have somewhere to play and learn. If there is no where to play Rugby League he is going to paly another sport. It is simple. Sometimes I wonder why it is called National because they do not want to be.

The original decision by NSWRL was the reason that Sunshine Coast and Souths Logan dropped down the ladder.

Sunshine Coast went from Queensland Cup winners with a young DCE playing, to an uncompetitive team with no NRL players. While Canberra dramatically reduced the number of players provided to Souths Logan. This was so Manly and Canberra could still have teams in SG Ball and HM comps.

Over the weekend Mack Miller captained (I believe) his school's First XV to an undefeated GPS Premiership. Doesn't happen very often so it deserves a strong congratulations and is hopefully a sign of things to come.

Mack Mason. Yes the school did, he played a great game. And our other player in the team Brodie Croft played well to.

I had seen this written a while back, thought it topical as to what has happened with the NSWRL, Storm and Sharks collaboration dissolving.
National Youth Competition to be Scrapped as League Officials go Back to the Drawing Board

The National Youth Competition is set to be scrapped as part of a massive overhaul of the pathways to NRL progression.
The under-20s competition was ushered in with much fanfare in 2008, billed as the chance to showcase the best young talent in the game.
But the Holden Cup will cease to exist when the current broadcast deal concludes at the end of 2017 and replaced by age-based competitions aligned with NSW and Queensland Cup teams.

Really? Give us these examples of aussie rules youth teams playing out of state or for teams with fingers in multiple pies.

Joe Apikotoa news
Apikotoa, who is contracted to the Melbourne Storm, also made the under-18 side last year, as a year 12. "He has come through as one of the leaders this year," Ball said.Apikotoa had not been certain that he would make the national side again, as he has played comparatively little league this winter.

He played both codes last year, with rugby on Saturday and league on Sunday, but with premier club league on a Saturday, he had to make a choice this year. Being his final year at school, he opted to concentrate on Silverstream's bid to win the premier one rugby title. That ended in disappointment, with a last minute loss to Scots in the final.

But Apikotoa has since had three games at prop for the Wellington Orcas in the national league competition and did enough to cement his under-18 claims.

This thread is for U20s, U18s, U16s Storm sides and Victorian u18s and u15s sides. I figured its easy to find information in one spot on our Juniors. Also to follow how any of our players we know that have scholarships with us.
