RIP Tommy Hafey

A huge Storm fan and AFL icon, it was great that such a household name in AFL could embrace Melbourne Storm like he did. I caught the StKilda Beach tram with him after one particularly fantastic Storm game at Etihad (finals game probably) and we chatted like we'd known each other for years. I was so engrossed in our conversation I missed my tram stop altogether and had to walk back.

I cant believe two legends of both codes have passed so suddenly.

My thoughts are with the Hafey and Gasnier family and everyone close to them.

Tommy Hafey was such a lovely man. Always had time for a chat in the after match when we bumped into each other even though we followed different teams.
RIP Tommy.. You Will Be Missed .

I met him once. When I was paddling out in the surf at Portsea. Some bloke in speedos was swimming out beside me. He said "Great day to be in the water". Here's me in my full length steamer thinking its F*#king freezing what are you on about old man. Then I realized it was Tom Hafey. What a absolute legend. RIP.

Tom Hafey was a legend. I am a Pies fan and one of my first memories of footy is Tommy in his Pies t-shirt.

He was inspirational. It is so sad to think that he was fitter than 90% of the population and he was still struck down by this terrible disease.

His support of Storm was well known, which is unbelievable from an AFL legend.
