Good news on MacDonald. I am fascinated by how the Paps extension talks work out after we extended Sua. I don't know how both fit and honestly don't know if we should have both.
Melbourne are on the verge of extending the contract of underrated forward Alec MacDonald. The 22-year-old MacDonald, off contract at the end of 2025, has been a fixture in the Storm side this season, playing all of his 11 games off the interchange bench.
His imminent retention comes as the Storm press ahead with plans to extend the contract of fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen and begin preliminary talks with hooker Harry Grant over an extension to his existing deal.

Talk of NAS being targeted by the Tigers if they lose Utokimanu, to be honest with Nelson’s form lately I’d take a swap 100%.

Newscorp reporting Suliasi Vunivalu is being targeted by a few unnamed NRL clubs, I wonder if we are one of them?
Exciting as he is, Sua should be a long way from being our first choice fullback. His passing game leaves a lot to be desired (i.e. his only thought with the ball in hand is "run"), and he is yet to develop the defensive vision and leadership that highlights a great fullback (think Paps, but more so Billy). His defensive selections are ok and will improve with experience. No doubt with time and working under Bill Sua will develop well, but currently we are a much better team with Ryan at 1.blazza18 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2024 9:50 am From the DT

We must all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately
So, the choice between an injury prone superstar and a very promising kid who is currently a one trick pony (but it's a very good trick) who might develop into a compleat fullback.
Glad I don't have to make that decision.
