This is excellent news. So him, Papenhuyzen and Grant are all signed until the end of 2024 now with Munster off contract at the end of 2023.

Priority re-signings now for the club have to be Kaufusi (I think he’s off contract at the end of 2022), Welch and the Bromwich brothers (although Kenny has a player option for 2023).

Finucane off contract end of this season, isn't he?

So apparently we've signed Michael Purcell ( aka the kangaroo catcher). Besides being a fast winger, is this a quality signing?

Finucane's manager chasing a 4/3.2 million deal with us according to the SMH. Good luck with that bud.

I love Dale, I really do and if he was 26 I reckon he'd get it. But as much as I try, I can't imagine his best football is still ahead of him. And to get a contract like that, he'd need it to be.

The info is here if people were wondering - https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/the-ra ... 57gcf.html

I actually had to double check to make sure it said 3.2 million. Would be fine keeping him but I'm not sure what his role will be if Brandon stays on the team through his contract?

I love Dale and the heart he plays with... but that is huge overs. We are in for salary cap trouble if we entertain anything close to that.

I mean, he'll be 34 by the end of that... As great as he's been, 4 years is a lot at his age and 800k/year is expensive...

He's been an awesome player for us - 2 premierships and a player of the year award. I just don't know about this deal.

I wouldn't be too concerned, honestly. We don't give that type of money to non key positions.

Clarkey on instagram shared that Dane Gagai's contract talks with Souths have hit a dead end and he is on the market. Still early days and surely Souths try to retain him but I think with JAC leaving we should make a huge plan for him.

I agree, although with the uncertainty surrounding Bellamy's future I doubt he'd move to Melbourne.

Why would you want us to pay top dollar for Dane Gagai?

Agreed. He's got 'super annuation fund trip to the Super League' written all over him.
