This is from The Mole so take it with a grain of salt but apparently there are a number of "conditions" that need to be met by the end of May or Will Chambers can exercise a get out clause.
Normally I would be happy to lose players but we should pull out all stops to keep him. So potent in attack and surprisingly effective in defense despite 2 years away playing raa raa.

If Melbourne Storm can't organise an incremental pay rise for Will Chambers by the end of May, then they shouldn't even bother opening the doors for business on June 1st

i have been told chambers is following widdop to dragons.. don't no how true it is tho not the best source... I just hope storm don't do to chambers what they did to widdop.. as in making him a offer n after 2 weeks they rang him n gave him a 48hr deadline to re-sign so widdop rang them back 2hrs later n declined the offer.. playing hard ball isn't going to work with this new salary cap..
I'd hate to see us lose Chambers but he's not worth paying overs for. There's plenty of good centres around, and we have 3 great ones in our stocks already, O'Neil, Sau and Blair.
I reckon if he so desperately wants to jump ship then let him jump. Our main priority should be to retain Bromwich, Harris, Proctor, O'Neil, Waqa and Fonua.
