Melbourne Storm’s Kevin Proctor and Siosaiva Vave were both charged with a Grade 1 Dangerous Throw for their tackle on Rabbitohs forward Sam Burgess in the 64th minute of their side’s 24-6 win over South Sydney at AAMI Park on Saturday.

Both players will be free to play if they take the early plea, but would risk missing the Preliminary Final if they fought the charge at the NRL judiciary and lost.

If the Melbourne duo decide to take the early plea, they will be walking a tightrope during the penultimate game of the season, any additional charge would see them miss the NRL Grand Final.

I think one of them should take the early plea. The other should fight it stating that it was the other player's actions, not theirs, that caused the player to end up in dangerous position.

Quite frankly they should think themselves lucky to only cop a grade 1. It was an ugly, and very unnecessary tackle.

Both should be getting 2 weeks off champ. If you wanna talk storm here then fine. But I really don't care about what manly players have been charged for dirty play.

Matai should have got 2 weeks just because he is a grub of the highest level !
13 charges in 5 years copping 21 weeks in total !

Vave & Proctor were very lucky they had a good record , the tackle looked not real good but it wasnt a hard driving tackle like others have done.

Four 'visiting teams' appeared to have come with a 'let's bash the crap out of them' play theme $:-\$
They all lost !

there was no malice in the tackle from KP and Vave so am surprised it was more than a penalty.

Just to say that Proc.& Vave were very lucky to get such a light sentence for that Spear tackle maybe it was not malicous but it was DANGEROUS.
