WTF !!! Don't recall seeing any chicken wing tackle. Is this for real? Or are you just trolling again?

It was in the story on the Foxsport website that Cronk did a chicken wing tackle at the 47 min of the game and could be in trouble. I went back and watch the tackle and Cronk does grab the arm, but he stops and does not pull the arm backwards, he lets go. He let go because the player has a problem and is in pain. The player went down with some leg problem in the tackle, because the palyer was in pain they asmued it was the arm. Media making up things about Storm's tackling again.

In the game last night Warrior v Sea Eagels, Watmough was place on report for a chicken wing and he does put the arm behind the back of the player and player is hurt.

I saw that incident but I never imagined they could bring up the chicken wing subject.I automatically thought it was his ankle he was worried about as was Coops when he called for help.

BUT....................... Wrong

Wrong Day
Wrong Game
Wrong Player
Watmough was put in the bad books after grabbing the arm of Kevin Locke and applying force in an attempt to roll the Warriors speedster onto his back.

Locke's arm twisted awkwardly during the movement, but the 23-year-old managed to play on.

Obviously nexttime/Roberttuz resides in NSW because he's always very quick with SMH headline articles. And this is another one of them by the looks of it.

From SMH 29/7/12

MATCH STATS
If Craig Bellamy was in uncharted territory as a coach before last night’s match at WIN Stadium, he must now be feeling  lost after the Storm crashed against the Dragons to their fifth consecutive loss. Successive defeats by the Bulldogs, Raiders, Cowboys and Eels were already the worst run of losses in his 10-year coaching career with Melbourne.

Now Bellamy has just a week to turn it around against Penrith or the Storm will equal their worst losing streak  – set in 2002 when they suffered six  defeats in a row.

And there is a possibility that Bellamy will be without star halfback Cooper Cronk after a tackle  that left Ben Creagh clutching at his shoulder early in the second half.

Referees Ben Cummins and Chris James did not take any action against Cronk but the tackle will come under scrutiny from the NRL match review committee on Monday for a possible ‘‘chicken wing’’.

Interchange forward Kevin Proctor was also placed on report for a lifting tackle on St George Illawarra winger Brett Morris and it is almost certain he will be charged over the incident in the 30th minute.

With Billy Slater returning last night, Storm critics and fans cannot blame the losses on his absence since suffering a knee injury in Origin II.

While there were reminders during St George Illawarra’s eight-point win of what the Storm can do with the big three of Slater, Cameron Smith and  Cronk all on the field, they looked like a team down on confidence.

It is a position the Dragons found themselves in 12 months ago after State of Origin and they never fully recovered, scraping into the finals before being eliminated in extra time by the Broncos.

Last season, Bellamy rested his stars after Origin but he has not had that luxury this year because of injuries to Slater and Smith and the losses that have seen the team surrender a six-point lead at the top of the premiership ladder to now be in danger of missing the top four.

If South Sydney beat Wests Tigers tomorrow, Melbourne will drop to third place, while the Dragons will move to equal eighth place.

Whether the fact that St George Illawarra’s five tries were the most they have scored since beating Sydney Roosters in round eight says more about the Dragons attack or the Storm’s defence was difficult to determine but the home team deserves credit.

Morris was the star of the win with three tries – the first a 95-metre intercept try from a Slater pass and his second a 90-metre run after picking up a loose pass from Cronk to the star fullback.

Both plays showed how much Melbourne’s timing was off but the Dragons dominated the match for all but the five minutes before halftime when Proctor and Will Chambers scored.

Chambers’s try featured passes from Smith, Cronk and Slater before he crossed to reduce St George Illawarra’s lead to 18-12 but when Morris raced away for his second try in the 45th minute it was clear the Storm were in trouble.

After Morris scored again in the 50th minute, Cummins said to James: ‘‘It seemed so easy.’’

But the Dragons had to play 59 minutes without Beau Scott after he sustained a groin injury as he crossed for his side’s second try, while they lost five-eighth Jamie Soward before kick-off with a back injury.

ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA 26 (B Morris 3 T Merrin B Scott tries C Stanley 3 goals) bt MELBOURNE 18 (W Chambers R Hinchcliffe K Proctor tries C Smith 3 goals) at WIN Stadium. Referee: Ben Cummins, Chris James. Crowd: 11,477.

That Proctor tackle lol. I don't understand how he is in trouble for that. Morris was put on his back as soft as one can put someone on his back. Cronk thing is nothing. Creagh was hurt in the leg area. Nothing to do with arm.

Another gee up from a Sydney paper. The article over Smith in origin was the last straw for me. F*** em.

The penalty against Proctor was probably sufficient. Because he wears purple I'd be expecting a 1-2 week rest for him.

Hopefully there's nothing in Coops' bullshit charge (if he is even charged that is). I saw nothing on Friday night, and I always delete the games we lose straight away. I can never stand to watch them again.

Disappointing decision by the MRC don't you think Nexttime? Or do you have to see it in the SMH first?

I think its indicative of their inconsistency,Cronk's wing was around as bad as Watmough's

Both were not true chicken wings and shouldn't have even drawn a penalty,i'd be shocked if
we didn't fight it,the points are a joke that would give him no room for further mistakes without
missing another game
