The Canberra Raiders have sent video footage to NRL referees boss Bill Harrigan, claiming the Melbourne Storm are using a new controversial tackling technique focused on grappling the head and neck of players.

Reacting to complaints from his players about alleged attacks on their necks during Saturday's match against the Storm, Canberra coach David Furner has identified six incidents which he has sent on to the NRL for advice.

Raiders captain Terry Campese made on-field complaints to the referees about the alleged holds during the 24-19 loss to the Storm.

It's official, the Canberra Raiders were robbed.

More NRL whistle-blowers face the axe this morning after admissions from referees coach Russell Smith that two try-scoring calls against the Raiders on Saturday night were officially wrong.

After completing his video review of the match yesterday, Smith said Blake Ferguson's no-try in the 37th minute should have been awarded to Canberra, while Cooper Cronk's try for Melbourne in the seventh minute should have been disallowed

I must admit when the video ref was reviewing Cronk's try I said to my wife that Norrie was offside and I expected a penalty.

i think furner is on notice at the raiders and he is looking for excuses, but because its made against storms tackling techniques it will have a magnifying glass put over it

its because anasta normally has something to complain about, but the refs dont want to listen. they sit back and watch him get KOed and give the penalty against him for getting in the way of the fist.

Brett Kimmorley commented that from the Raiders sheds at half time they were complaining about our wrestling techniques

They should watch the tiggers and gummy shark game. There was grapple tackles,coathangers.etc but the commentators didn`t really carry on about it. It seems that they only want to highlight it if it is STORM. LD even said that the pass was only a little bit forward for the raiders last try but doesn`t see why the ref should call it. What a joke.
furner is really worried about trying to keep his job.Maybe if he was a better coach there wouldn`t be a problem for him.
