Despite speculation, the Broncos were never genuinely interested in recruiting Cronk from Melbourne. They closed the door on any move earlier this week when they re-signed former NSW No 7 Peter Wallace. "He was always going to re-sign with the club," said Wallace's manager Alan Gainey. "That was never in doubt.

"The club always made it clear that it was their intention to sign him, it was a matter of finding the money and space under the cap."
What a telling little phrase that is - Is Gainey claiming Wallace was the cheaper of the two options - Or that the Broncos had to shuffle their rubbery 3rd party deals to 'fit him under the cap'

The Bunnies are still very much in the picture.

Shane Richardson does not like to comment on recruitment.

The talk is actually that Taylor is wanted by Brisbane...not the Titans.

There is also talk that the Bunnies are doing every thing possible to keep him, which may mean that they will use a lot of their "Cronk" dollars if need be?????

Apparently Taylor wants to stay with the Bunnies but his wife is homesick.

Come on girl, do the right thing and stick with your man, you know the one that brings home his pay packet to you :)

the article about cherry-evans on LQ has said that talk is cooper crank is more than likely to reject outside offers to remain with the storm. cherry-evans is now the in demand soon to be free agent, he is only on $100k a year and after reaching 4 nations selection last year that should double. he is rumoured to be demanding a higher than league average salary

Does anyone have any idea what Cooper is on now? The news on the weekend (and whether you believe it or not is up to you) was that we were going to offer him $2.2m over four seasons. That would be $550,000 a season and considerably less than what other clubs are/were supposedly willing to spend on him.

i think i heard 350k a year for cooper now, matty johns told him not to sign for so long as he will get more elsewhere, but cooper said he would have taken less to stay at the club. 550k a year is reasonable for both parties imo. but will we be able to keep sika and upgrade the kids coming through as well?

We've got a couple of months before the next TV rights deal will be finalised. Then we'll have a better idea of what the cap is going to be going forward. I'm sure we'll have space to re-sign and upgrade.

According to RLW Sika is going on the open market. Tigers are first in line to snare him.

Also, now that G (for 'grub') Stewart has signed for St.Merge-Shithole you'd think the Eagles will have freed up funds to keep DCE...
