Williams (swinging arm) will get off, it was a high and deserved a penlty, but can not see him missing a week. Once the Sydney media start, he will get off.

Matai should get a week for coming in with his knees. But the arguement will be, it was his knees not his feet that made contact with the player and the rule is about coming in with the feet. Manly will find a loop hole in the rule, just like the Eels did to get Hayne off the head butting charge aganist Slater.

The Sydney media will again get on this and show how other players have come in with their knees (Slater will be mentioned all the time) and get nothing.

The NRL and the Sydney media have a Sydney team in the grand final, this is what they wanted at the start of the finals and ther ref's have helped ensure it.

While the Sea Eagles' premiership hopes are expected to be boosted by the return of Glenn Stewart, they face a nervous 48-hour wait over the fates of Williams and Matai.

Williams, arguably Manly's most influential player in this year's finals series, was put on report for a swinging arm on Yow Yeh in the 63rd minute, which left the Queensland winger flat on the SFS turf.

Yow Yeh managed to get back to his feet but two minutes later he was again gasping for air after Matai collected him with his knees trying to stop a try in the corner.

Matai was suspended for one match earlier in the year for a high tackle on St George Illawarra's Jason Nightingale, meaning he will take some carry over points and a 20 per cent loading into this week's charge.

It's a grim outlook for the New Zealand centre, who even if charged with a grade-one contrary conduct, will miss next week's grand final at ANZ Stadium.

The relationship between Manly and the NRL is already at breaking point.

I hope they both get a week. But honestly I didn't see much in either incident that deserved more than a penalty. If they were Storm players we'd be filthy about em being put on report.
Let's hope the judiciary see it differently. And hopefully no Storm players have to face them after tonight's clash.

Storm players have been rubbed out for much less than a high swinging arm into a TALL player standing upright & a DELIBERATE rib breaking hit into a man on the ground

dropping on top of a player is different to sliding into a player with your knees

the judiciary won`t suspend either player.Even if yow yee`s head was rolling around on the field the judiciary would say yow yee`s head was in the way. if they didn`t suspend headbutt they aren`t going to stop these players from playing.

They will get off, and Lussick and G Stewart to come back in.. disgraceful.

We'll still beat them.. they looked ordinary the last night against a silly broncs outfit without Locky and Hoffman..

I wonder if Champion will get a 'Storm punishment' for his charge? Or will they be lenient because he's leaving?

Disgraceful!

I saw the replay of the Matai effort and if that was Billy Slater or another Storm player then the media would be baying for blood!

Matai deserved time on the sidelines for coming in as he did.

Don't just rely on us Cambo.
Manly and Warriors supporters should boo Gallop off stage next week. This will then show that it's not just us and Gus Gould who want this man to step down before he ruins our great game.
For as long as he can deflect the negative attention towards us he will remain in charge.
