Hello fellow NRL league leaders,
Didn't really want to watch the game at home on my own, so I thought I'd go into Crown to watch the Panthers telecast.

It was pretty poorly advertised by the club, who I think were just excited that they had a live TV feed into Victoria. But still about 80-100 Storm supporters turned up with Robbie Kearns on the microphone.

The Pub at Crown was an OK place to watch the game. Yes Crown can be a tad antiseptic, but it beats the Bench at AAMI Park & at least gives us as fans a place to go and watch games TOGETHER. You had to get there early to get seats so you could watch the screens up on the walls, but with an extra 50-100 people in the place the atmosphere would have been pretty decent.

Is anyone keen on getting a TheBaistand.com group together to watch games at Crown (if we can't make it up to Sydney etc etc)? I can vouch for the fact that as a Sydney Swans fan in Melbourne it is great watching games together at the Rising Sun in South Melbourne.

The Storm club are big on trying to publicise the Pub @ Crown as a place to go and be social & watch away games. Melbourne Storm prides itself on its social atmosphere where fans and players are close to each other. In my view having a pub to watch away games at will only help develop this.

I got an email from the club about watching away games at Crown. If I lived in Melbourne I would be going to Crown for every away game. Storm supporters should be supporting Crown in this as they are our major sponsor. They showed faith in us so if they are providing a place for Storm members and supporters to watch our great team I don`t know why anyone wouldn`t do it. It makes great atmosphere if there is a lot of us. :swav: :swav: :swav:

This.

However there's something I love about going into the Rising Sun Hotel in Richmond to watch a live 'imparja' game, with reasonably priced meals and drinks and local hospitality!

However, I might give the crown a go soon.

i thought it was advertised to members quite well. i recieved text messages about it from storm.

i went there for the panthers game. would have liked some more seats provided by the pub, i had to stand at the bar all game. i thought kearns was a bit preoccupied with his friends but fair enough, he is there to enjoy the game too.

2 big screens, good atmosphere, food avaliable, drinks avaliable. thought it was very good

There's a chance I may go if I can get organized. What time is the game on?

If you went to The Pub during the week would you know it was Storm's venue? Any memorabilia around, etc.? Or is it just a joint that's vowed to screen games and allow Storm jerseys to be worn on game days/nights?

for the panthers game there was a handfull of supporters that were wearing the jersey. i had actually forgotten that the game was being shown live but went in for a bit of roulette and saw a sign near the pub saying the game was live so joined them.

no memorabilia either, just shows the game on both the screens aswell as what ever footy is on the tv's behind the bar

I'll be at the Casino on Saturday night (attempting to win back my money!) so I will definitely pop into the Pub and watch the Storm v Broncos!

Glad to hear the Sun is still showing games.
My old local, and I have to say I miss her still.
