Having O'Neill and NIko in the background mean Duff cant bargain too hard.
And dont forget about Brad Arthur' influence.
Very good point about Brad Arthur. NO one is bigger than the club, but I wouldn't like to see Duffie go, really like him a winger and as a footballer. In saying that, he's got O'Neill/Quinn in front of him (haven't seen Niko play, but have heard good things about him) the best way for Duffie to get back into the team is play good footie and keep scoring tries like he did in the first game v Manly (that try was amazing as he had little to no room to work with!!!)
If kearney wants our players he should have stayed at STORM. why should OUR players help doesnmatta get better.

due to the nature of the salary cap players leave clubs all the time.
This is where the salary cap is wrong, clubs should only have to include a % of the players wages if the player came thru the club's lower grades, u20's etc. This way clubs can keep talent they helpped produce and players which get paid what they are worth instead of going to ESL for a couple years to take the cash before they retire.

Id guess Parra and Souths will both go after Widdop pretty hard as they both need a 6.
Will be interesting to see what happens there, Gareth has started the season fine in a new position while Mcgahan in the 20's is clearly a future NRL star.

http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/leag ... 1c3ro.htmlMeanwhile, the Storm made a three-year offer to promising winger Matt Duffie earlier this month and believe it is good enough to entice him to stay in Melbourne despite the attention of Parramatta which has also made an offer.

Did you watch the league lounge last week? They showed a photo of Sisa's unbelievable physique. Ben Ross reckons there's players at Souths who look like that. I doubt it Benny.

Watching the Eels on Friday I wondered if the Duffie talk is furphy while they go after Widdop.
Certainly a 6 is far more important to them then a winger.

There's a Storm brewing in Melbourne and it's forecast to hit Sydney on October 2

I can tell you from personal experience that no body at Souths training looks like Waqa, in the picture where he is holding the medicine ball like a football.

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/nrl/m ... 6031634344BOOM Melbourne winger Matt Duffie is believed to have asked for two weeks to consider the Storm's contract offer after a significant bid for him by Parramatta.
Storm officials are optimistic 20-year-old Duffie, off contract at the end of the season, will accept their offer.
They will give the Kiwi time to weigh up what is believed to be a bigger offer from the Eels, where former Storm assistant coach Steve Kearney is in charge.
Duffie is also close to Kearney's assistant Brad Arthur, who coached him in the Storm's 2009 under-20s premiership-winning team.
In the Storm's favour is Duffie's relationship with their players, particularly housemate and fellow winger Justin O'Neill, who re-signed with the Storm last season.
Duffie is back in full training after a shoulder injury.
