THE NRL All Stars have endured another injury scare ahead of this Saturday's clash, with Billy Slater going down at training.
The Kangaroos and Queensland fullback was left clutching his right ankle after falling during a ball work drill at Coogee Oval, in Sydney’s east.
He hobbled off the field with the assistance of team officials and was promptly iced and strapped.
He did not return to the field, although the incident occurred late in the session.
Team officials gave little indication whether the injury will keep Slater out of the blockbuster clash against the Indigenous All Stars, which will be played at Skilled Park on the Gold Coast.
The incident is the latest in a string of injury concerns surrounding the game, with five players already ruled out.
Key forwards Dave Taylor, Gareth Ellis and Alan Tongue have been forced to withdraw from the NRL All Stars line-up, with Sam Burgess, Robbie Farah and David Shillington called in to replace them.

So................The Gold Coast Titans commemorative 'sorry' game has so far cost Melbourne Storm two of it's key players.
I'd say that makes it a success

Any news on whether Billy will be fit for the WCC? I really couldn't stand losing to Leeds twice.
I really don't give a shit about the all star game, i never really got excited about it even when it was first announced. Its a nothing game where star players run the risk of getting injured and missing the start of the season.
The less of our boys in this game for whatever reason the better.

Interesting that all the sydney papers have the same take on this
Losing Slater is apparently no concern as it offes the chance to "Unleash the Hayne Hurricane" and "Galvanise Hayne's place as Australian fullback"
Since when has there been an ani-Storm sentiment up here???

Hayneitis has apparently effected Hayne's memory of pocket pissing news articles during last season's finals campaign.singlemalt wrote: Interesting that all the sydney papers have the same take on this

re: Parramatta in 2010
There's a lot of expectation on us - it's something we didn't have last year... Jarryd Hayne
