MELBOURNE Storm have signed a new front rower, believed to be Bryan Norrie from the Sharks.

Norrie, 25,  is 192cm and 105 kg and has been signed as insurance because the club are short of front rowers.

Before the Sharks he played with Penrith Panthers.

Big man Brett White and giant recruit John Kite will miss the start of the season and Ryan Tandy is also in some doubt, all due to shoulder problems which has required surgery.

It has left the Storm potentially short in the forward pack and although Frank Ponissi said last week the club were not actively in the market, they will be pleased the opportunity to recruit Norrie has come up.

He is the last piece in the jigsaw for the Storm's recrutig this seasson.

Leaving one spot open in the squad worked for the Storm last season when it was able to snare Brett Finch from Parramatta and he helped steer Melbourne to the premiership.
2012 premiers. Legit.

He's decent enough.

No harm in signing someone like him.

Will anyone be ready to go by round 1?
