I would think Hoffman would be a great Lock, good ball skills, good hole runner. His defence my not me of a Dallas standard but he would be a better attacking option by far.

I keep hearing this but I highly doubt Watmough is affordable! I mean if we're getting rid of Dallas for salary cap reasons then I can't see how Watmough is on similar money.

mate stop starting posts that obviously aren't true...dont believe everything you read, watmough is not coming to melb...if anything he would most likely stay in sydney if the eagles were to let him go...in saying that i don't think they will let him go and I don't think he is the type of player we want. Has 3-4 good games a year spends the rest of his time tackling air.

Money wise, it would be Dallas and someone else - I heard a rumour a while back about Hoffy having to go to free up cash and position for Watmough.
He has positives, but I wouldn't trade our current stocks for him, as there are enough negatives in his game to raise questions IMO.

I do agree that's it a wierd coincidence and I did hear Watmough give Bellamy a huge wrap in turning his season around in Origin camp so maybe they struck up a good relationship.
If Watmough is off contract for 2011 then there's a genuine possibility we could be making room for a big signing.
But if are looking to sign him for next season then I'll put my house on him not coming.

ill admit watmough is a quality player, but too often he just goes missing when the team really needs him Eg. both times we played them in the back half of the year.
