I hope we can retain brett finch beyond this season, iknow alot of people do not like him but i think he will play his best footy of his career at the storm. He had no one with him at the roosters or eels but with us he has class all around him. I love it when he gives inglis early ball and plenty of room to run.......  cmon boys offer him a contract and he has already said he would willingly take a pay cut to stay with a premiership contending team and the best structured team in the comp....                go hard finchy!

wow that title was very misleading  I was one of the people that did not want him here...but after what he has done this year i think we should re-sign for long. but can we afford it?

He has said that he would quite willingly take a pay cut to stay with us and quite honestly i dont think we have anyone else to put in the 5/8 position, i have watched maloney play quite a few games now and as of yet i have not seen anything that has WOWD me?
Finch is a great player when there is no pressure on him and unlike at the roosters and eels he was all they had so it pushed him over the edge but with the storm he has a great structure and a number of players that can handle the ball in their hands and make something of it....              c'mon finch resign resign resign        ;D

I think we should just bring arana taumata back next year, as much as brett's helped us this year he isn't getting any younger and i would much rather see a young five-eigth like taumata supplying inglis and also making breaks himself then a brett finch who just passes..

If Taumata had Finch's personality he would be one of the best five eights in the game
"Better to have Won then Lost, than to have never won at all" Arrogant, but true hahahaha

Why can't we get a sponsor to employ him in an "ambassador" role, ala Chris Judd in the AFL.  Carlton couldn't afford his contract so he is employed by VISY as an environmental ambassador.

so Finch's profile isnt big, but that can be a side issue

there's issues with sponsors making 3rd party payments to players though, so would want to make sure it's 100% above board - it's what we were constantly fined for going back a few years, 3rd party payments to Kearney I think it was.
