Kevin Proctor re-signs with Melbourne Storm
MELBOURNE Storm back-rower Kevin Proctor has extended his contract at the club for a further two years.

Proctor, who made his NRL debut for the club in 2008, has agreed to a new deal that will see him remain in Melbourne at least until the end of 2011.

“For me, looking elsewhere was never an option,” said Proctor, 20, who grew up on the Gold Coast.

“I’ve made Melbourne my home over the past three years and I couldn’t think of anywhere else I’d rather play football than here.

“We’ve lost a lot of experience recently and young guys like myself have been presented with real opportunities by Craig (Bellamy, Storm's coach).

“He’s been a great supporter of mine and I’m just glad I get a chance to repay some of the faith he has shown in me.”

Proctor’s decision to re-commit to Melbourne  is another success for the club’s recruitment and retention drive that has seen deals extended for Cameron Smith, Billy Slater, Greg Inglis, Dallas Johnson, Jeff Lima, Sika Manu, Brett White and Dallas Johnson.

Storm coach Craig Bellamy was delighted by Proctor’s decision to re-sign.

“Kevin has impressed everyone at the club this year with his attitude,” Bellamy said.

“He’s one of a number of quality young players emerging through our ranks and we’re confident he can play a major role for us over the coming years.”

Proctor, currently sidelined with a broken ankle, is expected to make his return to the NRL this season in Round 20.

He has played 10 NRL games since making his debut in Round 10 last year.
Noice! Congrats to Kev and the Storm!

Good to see... slightly OT, but when is Lima signed until?  I don't recall seeing anything about him re-signing and thought he was off contract this year.  Very, very happy if he has extended it though!

Lima signed a 3 year deal at the end of last year knocking back a very big offer the Bulldogs.  Means we have him covered untill the end of 2011.

May 02, 2008 .MELBOURNE have re-signed Jeff Lima through to the end of the 2011 NRL season after the New Zealand Test prop rejected a lucrative offer from the Bulldogs.

Adam Blair signed around the same time for another three years so he is here until the end of 2011 at least as well.

I like what he said about looking elsewhere was never an option. Its good to know not all the young guys we are bringing through are looking at doing a runner at first chance.

Just listening to the Chooks - Tits game & one of the commentators mentioned how 'Storm like' the Titans 'effective' goalline attack structures were. The other commentator mentioned that the Titans coach had actually admitted copying Storm's goalline attack style.
This is getting beyond a joke ...... copying is one thing, but raiding our stocks in another.

I wish the poachers (aka. Titans) would just %$#@ off and focus on bringing in and training their own talent.  How many players have they signed/tried to sign from us since they came into being (in no particular order):

Joseph Tomane
Cameron Smith
Sam Tagataese
Smith Samau (part of the Turner settlement)
Daniel Isaac (also part of the Turner settlement)
Steve Turner (added for completeness)
Ian Donnelly
Nathan Friend
Josh Graham
Chris Walker
Jake Webster

I'm sure there are others but these are the ones that spring to mind readily.

Josh Graham went there after going to union and Chris Walker was let go well before the Titans showed any interest.

Funny how some Storm supporters are complaining about what some of ever other club has complained about the storm since it's inception.

Check out how many good former Broncos players are playing at other clubs, for example. It's just a flaw of the NRL in general. Not the individual clubs.

Have the Titans even really stole that many very good players though?
