Melbourne Storm recruitment manager Darren Bell has unwiitingly discovered a new recruit with a highly emotional link to the club.

Storm has offered a scholarship to 15-year-old Harry Moore, son of the clubs former football manager Michael Moore, who died tragically in Auckland after a match against the New Zealand Warriors in 2000.

A trophy was struck in Moore's honour and is awarded to the winning team every time they clash.

Bell had no idea who Harry was when he saw him at the recent under-15 Queensland championships in Mackay but wanted to sign him, and was delighted when he discovered the link.  Harry happily signed with the Storm and is expected to move to Melbourne in a couple of years to embark on his NRL career.

Great story although you would have thought that the club would have been keeping tabs on him given the background.  His dad was a great person to be around.  Hopefully Harry has inherited this trait as well as being a good footballer.
Ahhh McGahan; you've done it agahan....
