I didn't realise Finch was so old. I was watching Fox Sports tonite and they referred to him as a "veteran" so I googled him and the guy is 28!!

Surely he is way too old and past it to even be considered??! Haven't we signed some young guys to play at 5/8?

If that's the case, then truly, the leopard can change his shorts.

Randwick Rugby Club interested in signing NRL star Brett Finch
By Andrew Webster
April 11, 2009 Randwick Rugby Club have made a stunning approach to exiled NRL halfback Brett Finch. No joke.

It can be revealed that the Galloping Greens have been eyeing the former Parramatta Eels playmaker for weeks, and after his shock departure this week have phoned Finch's management about luring him to the 15-man code. They will meet this weekend.

"Yes, we are most definitely interested," Randwick general manager Chris Heath said. "We are looking for a five-eighth and he would slot into the team and the club nicely. He'd be a good signing for us and would generate a lot of interest."

While Melbourne Storm are strongly tipped to sign him - unless a UK Super League club weighs in with a hefty offer - Finch said he was keeping his options open.

"You never say never," he remarked. "If I was ever going to make a code switch, that would be the perfect place to start."

The question, of course, is how would Finch's cheeky personality resonate in Rah Rah Land?

"We knocked that out of Josh Valentine," Heath smirked. "We'd knock it out of Brett Finch, too."

DOES THIS MEAN WE HAVE LOST HIM COMPLETELY

hmm could go either way, wrong side of 25, not alot of clubs want him, the only one that does can only offer him crap, the offer from union could look pretty tempting.

but i think the chances of an nrl premiership and sticking it up his old club wil play a part too  and of course playing with some of the games greats

Storm should not sign Finch, if anything has become clear this year its that the youth are where teams should be targeting their cash...

I am a Raiders fans and some of our young players are really paying off now.

Good luck this week against Panthers, I think you should win by a bit.

Gee I forgot about Union. We lost Witt to that code so it is a possibility.
