With days to go before the end of the 2008 season, the NRL has done the unthinkable and actually released the 2009 fixture!

Of note - we get the bye before Origins 1 and 3, playing Tigers before Origin 2. We also finish off the season in Round 26 playing Warriors in New Zealand.

We also play Brisbane away, Cowboys away then Titans at home in Rounds 2-4.

And thankfully, they have scheduled Origin 1 in Melbourne, followed by Broncos at home.

We also have the Wayne Bennett version of the Dragslags in Round 1!

Might just be me, but since this is the first time the fixture has been released prior to the end of the preceding season, could it be the NRL is trying to cause a distraction?

OK the draw is always full of weird things... but what did we do to deserve playing the Warriors over there in Round 26?  :rolleye: Oh yeah... we're naughty... my mistake!

The Herald Sun seem to have taken the "affectionate" nickname for the Dragons into account when they typoed this:
Melbourne Storm open their season at homoe to  the Wayne Bennett-coached St George-Illawarra
*smirk* Makes me giggle cause it's funny!

last 3 games are tough - eagles, rooters and warriors...rest of the draw looks sweet, thouhg playing broncos and cowboys away at start is a bit tough though i guess with broncos haveing a lot of new players might be a good time to hit em before they gel. Reckon the club will spend the week in Qld rather than fly back. Least the origin 2 game is home and not away and we get byes before the other

Buck's night at the Royal and then the footy Friday night? Sounds OK to me.
2012 premiers. Legit.
