Just reported on Nine News is that Wayne Bennett has told the club that he doesn't want Ryles and wants the club to go after Jeremy Smith.

The report said that if Ryles does go Smith will be at the Dragons next year.

Haven't seen the report, but heard on foxsports news today that Ryles is expected to go to England... looks like we may lose Jezza. Be a shame, he's been a very solid player for us

i remember Jezza denying he wanted to go there earlier in the year (maybe late last year???)  I know things may have changed since Bennet taking over, but he sounded as if he didnt want anything to do with them. wouldnt be a huge loss, but i am a big fan of his and think he has done superb for us.

I think we under estimate Smith, he adds alot of impact off the bench.
Some much needed mongrel and is exactly the type of player that makes the club a success, does all the dirty work!

Smith knocked back a 3 year deal with the Dragons last year knowing he only had 1 year left on his Storm contract.I think he will stay.

depends what sort of money they throw at him.  he's an international player now, and no doubt will be offered more than we can pay to keep him.  Just depends how big the overs are I guess

Ryles has accepted a 3 year deal in France leaving a bit of money for the Dragons to now offer Smith.

Bennett would not comment on the issue but Ryles agent said that he expected Smith to sign with the dragons in the next few weeks.

The thing is with some of our players, they are players in a great team, very few great players in a team. For example, would Israel Folau be so highly regarded if it werent for Cooper Cronk?
Hoffman dosent offer much go forward and when he bursts into a whole its always a great pass from Cronk
Even Cronk himself, players i doubt could perform az well as they do at the Storm at other clubs.

The media, clubs & agents are always happy to rave on about bucket loads of money, but at the end of the day it comes down to...............
What's best for my family & my future
IMHO...........The team culture, atmosphere & mutual respect the players & coaches have for each other at Storm is a big factor in our ability to keep good players.

Jezza is a surety to leave the Storm at the end of the year.....

And knowing Jezza he will relish playing against his old storm mates when that happens.

Andy Raymond says it's a done deal. So i expect him to resign post-haste.

Jezza was awesome tonight, by the by.

I really have to say that the only way that Boofa played at that kick from Orford was if he cracked a fat.
